{ Gettin’ Silly }

209/365

Well the truth is that we’ve been silly for a long time now. I know, I know. Many would claim we always have been but you see, The Henderson’s discovered SILLY BANDZ back in the spring, and we really haven’t been the same since. What are Silly Bandz, you ask? Why they are only the latest craze- creating gimmick making a company out of Ohio very rich. They are also the reason that Teachers everywhere are pulling out their hair. (As it turns out they have been banned from many schools across America.) Remember those jelly bracelets that were all the rage back in the 80′s? Well Silly Bandz are those, except they come in all kinds of silly and fun shapes, and are likened to the Beanie Babies hysteria of the 90′s! Kids wear tons of them up their arms, and trade them. Unless they are my kids, and then they wear them up their arms and still manage to leave a trail of them through the house creating many the narrow miss with the vacuum. (And on occasion they trade with the neighbors). As soon as we were introduced to Silly Bandz I will admit that I felt so “In the know”.  Our collection has vastly grown, and our wallets have mysteriously shrunk since these pictures were taken. To my kidlets delight I sport the silly bandz too. I can’t help it, I’m just a cool “with the times” mom ;) . Actually, I’ll do just about anything to hear them giggle. And that usually involves being silly!! So If you didn’t know about Silly Bandz, consider yourself clued in! We love them!

Smiles from the Heart:

Hearing my littleman sing silly songs all day. (See, we are SOOO silly! We really should change our name to the Silly’s.)

My baby girl brushing and playing with my hair.

29 kisses on my cheek by my littleman. (Yes, he counted.)

My baby girls use of the word “sure”. i.e “I sure can do that!” “You sure are making us laugh!” “I sure love you!” :)

My hubby…My bestfriend… My one and only. Absolutely no one knows me better. We’re Stuck Like Glue. And I’m so blessed.

{Mock-A-Rita | Wordless Wednesday}

125/365

Smiles From the Heart:

Waking up to sweet words from the hubby.

Shopping for all of  the supplies to make a special dinner.

My littleman taking a 3 hour nap when he got home from school.

My baby girl playing to her hearts content in the garden hose while her brother slept.

Surprising my kidlets with a “Special Drink”. (Recipe can be found here.)

Enjoying the warm evening outside in our jammies after bath time.

Doing a million cartwheels and handstands for the benefit of my babies. I was completely dizzy, but my heart was smiling… hearing them giggle always does that to me. <3

Watching my babies delight as they attempted cartwheels and handstands of their own.

A friend (who might just be the unofficial president of the unofficial Sarah Henderson Photography Fan Club) and all of her encouraging complementing words. This cracked me up: “You need to update your blog. I’m thinking twice a day. No more than three though.”  Thanks Kim!! You always bring the biggest smile, and the reddest cheeks to my face! :) (She is also going to kill me for the whole “Wordless Wednesday” thing. lol)

Ok, so not exactly wordless per se, but I had much to smile about today! Feeling quite blessed by that!

I have been seriously AWOL for over a month. I am not quite sure where the month of April went. But I do know that it has been a whirlwind and I am still trying to catch up with myself. I have lots of blanks to fill in but here is a start. We had an amazingly gorgeous month. April showers evaded us, but May has already made up for that. Unfortunately we have had one illness after another in the last six weeks beginning with Garrett’s stomach bug ( You might remember the “Green” post from March). With the exception of recurring ear infections, pneumonia, the stomach bug again, and now strep throat it has been nothing but sunshine and rainbows in the Henderson household! :) But lets talk about something much more fun, shall we? Something so charming it is sure to melt your heart. Let’s talk about the wedding of Q and U hosted by Kindergartners. Brace yourself for cuteness!

I was an honored guest at the wedding of Q and U along with many QUeens and QUarterbacks. The wedding was hosted by Mrs. Mertins and Mrs. Amos’ Kindergarten classes. The event was put on to really solidify the QU sound into the students minds, and to remind them that the two always go hand in hand (a short list of exceptions exist but at 5 and 6 years of age they don’t need to worry with that. Heck, I don’t even worry with it. lol). A QUartet sang during the ceremony and a reception complete with wedding cake, punch, and dancing followed.  It was a fun day full of interactive learning! Oh to be in Kindergarten again…

Our QUarterback:

The QUeen, The officiant, Grandma Charlie, Punch, QUill to sign in with, simulated version of The Grand Exit complete with bubbles, Our Quarterback, Our QUarterback again:

Smiles From The Heart:

Quarterbacks and Queens… and the innocence of kindergartners!

Spending a week doing lots of activities with both of my kidlets school classes.

One on one field trip with my littleman.

One on one field trip with my baby girl.

A friend watching either of my kids at various times as I went from one dr appointment to another on their behalf.

Garrett:” Liar, Liar Pants On Fire!” Avery tattling: ” Momma! I not a FIRE!” (I probably shouldn’t laugh but I can’t help myself!)

My baby girl proudly bringing me a present. Four strawberries, each with a bite out of them. <3

{ Green }

I bet you thought I gave up on this project, didn’t you? Actually I was AWOL with good reason. Well it’s not a good reason, but it’s a reason.

In honor of St. Patty’s day we decided that this week’s photo theme was to be the color green. Little did I know when it was decided that is exactly how the Henderson household would be feeling… GREEN, and it wasn’t with envy I can assure you that.  The stomach bug decided to pay us a visit. My poor little guy was miserable for 7 days. As I type this my baby girl is now having her run with it. I pray she does not get any worse than she is now, and that it passes much more quickly than Garrett’s did. This has been a lonnnng week. A. Very. Long. Week.

Smiles From the Heart:

Spring is here! Spring is here!!!! I am so happy that Winter is behind us. We celebrated the spring equinox with a day of fun outside.

Exploring Ft. Pickens. I can’t wait to do a session down there!

Putting our toes in the sugar white sand at the beach.

My kidlets coming to me right now saying “Momma look at us!” I turn around and there they stand, Avery wearing my bra like a parachute (I hope she has a back up plan, just sayin’), and Garrett with a pair of my underwear on the outside of his outfit. They erupted into a fit of giggles as soon as I saw them and ran off saying “Let’s play dress up again!” :)

Garrett busily drawing his “inventions”. He is incredible to watch and his interest and detail with these inventions and “plans” are amazing.

Avery and all of her cute little phrases.

Snuggle parties. Lots and lots of snuggle parties. My fave.

A funny picture sent from Arkansas.

Knowing our family will be a complete unit this weekend and all of next week! <3 I’m so excited I can hardly calm my tummy down! (I promise it’s not the stomach bug lol)

{ Pretty fingers }

73/365

“Momma, I painted my pretty fingernails!” It’s only marker (thank goodness!), but she was extremely proud of herself. Now they match her pretty toenails that MiMi painted sparkly red a couple of weeks ago . I am pretty convinced she selected the red marker on purpose. :D

Today’s Smiles From the Heart:

Springing forward… well initially I thought it was for the birds, but I might actually get a good nights rest tonight.

Garrett’s ability to still play even though he is sick with the stomach bug. There is NO WAY I could pull that off. He is amazing, bless his little heart.

Getting a great deal on a pair of shoes.

Fresh Scones for breakfast.

My little shopping buddy, Avery. She did well today.

As I type this I am smiling through clenched teeth. Really praying that the feeling in the pit of my stomach is not what I fear… I don’t have time to be sick.
