Well the truth is that we’ve been silly for a long time now. I know, I know. Many would claim we always have been but you see, The Henderson’s discovered SILLY BANDZ back in the spring, and we really haven’t been the same since. What are Silly Bandz, you ask? Why they are only the latest craze- creating gimmick making a company out of Ohio very rich. They are also the reason that Teachers everywhere are pulling out their hair. (As it turns out they have been banned from many schools across America.) Remember those jelly bracelets that were all the rage back in the 80′s? Well Silly Bandz are those, except they come in all kinds of silly and fun shapes, and are likened to the Beanie Babies hysteria of the 90′s! Kids wear tons of them up their arms, and trade them. Unless they are my kids, and then they wear them up their arms and still manage to leave a trail of them through the house creating many the narrow miss with the vacuum. (And on occasion they trade with the neighbors). As soon as we were introduced to Silly Bandz I will admit that I felt so “In the know”.  Our collection has vastly grown, and our wallets have mysteriously shrunk since these pictures were taken. To my kidlets delight I sport the silly bandz too. I can’t help it, I’m just a cool “with the times” mom . Actually, I’ll do just about anything to hear them giggle. And that usually involves being silly!! So If you didn’t know about Silly Bandz, consider yourself clued in! We love them!

We had a blast shooting down at Ft. Pickens. I have been longing to shoot there for quite some time. As soon as I mentioned it to Brittany she was on board! In fact, both Josh and Brittany were on board for just about any idea I had. Such a FUN couple, and they are down right beautiful as well. I am so happy that they talked me in to being their wedding photographer. They were very convincing and I am honored that they felt strongly enough to put their faith in me with such precious memories! (stay tuned for wedding pics!!)

Josh and Brittany, I am so full of gratitude! The love you share is so natural, and so evident in the way you look at one another. Thank you for being so fabulous in front of the camera! You guys are incredibly fun, and I can’t imagine two better people to share in the moment as I handed over my license and registration. XOXO

There is a story behind this next shot.  Just to the bottom right of this sand dune in the parking lot stood a yellow porta potty. Josh, Brittany, and I all shared a good laugh at the “Pot-O-Gold” at the end of the rainbow.

We may or may- not have broken a few rules for this next shot. (If we got caught I totally was going to walk off and pretend I didn’t know them.) All kidding aside, I’d say it was well worth the risk!

I am so over the moon excited to debut this!! Let me just say that this process has been nearly a year in the making, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I commissioned Tiffany of On the Spot Studio to design a logo for me after finding a premade on her site that I fell in love with. Her work really speaks for itself. We were basing the design around my color scheme and working a heart into it, all while keeping with my motto “Life is Sweet”.  Tiffany was amazing through all of my indecisiveness and was a complete joy to work with. After approximately 9,412 concepts that she happily whipped up for me we had a winner.  But then… I had a dream one night. The dream involved watermelon, sunshine, summertime, in the form of a logo graphic. That same day I bought my baby girl a new bathing suit. As I spoke to Tiffany on the phone that afternoon I began describing my dream but then I gasped as I saw what was in the detail of the suit that my baby girl was now prancing around the house in. There were watermelon slices, and not only were there watermelon slices, the seeds of the watermelon were hearts. Exactly what I had seen in  my dream! In the words of my hubby “It’s a sign”. Somehow, through all of my rambling, Tiffany was able to whip up a more beautiful concept than I could have ever imagined. So Sarah Henderson Photography will have two logos that will work together. One involves the original heart concept, and one involves the watermelon with hearts. The summer months will display the logo you see now. To me it is the epitome of Summertime and the Sweet life!  So welcome to the new look of Sarah Henderson Photography!! (the website will be getting an updo soon as well!)

(She is also going to kill me for the whole “Wordless Wednesday” thing. lol)

Ok, so not exactly wordless per se, but I had much to smile about today! Feeling quite blessed by that!

I have been seriously AWOL for over a month. I am not quite sure where the month of April went. But I do know that it has been a whirlwind and I am still trying to catch up with myself. I have lots of blanks to fill in but here is a start. We had an amazingly gorgeous month. April showers evaded us, but May has already made up for that. Unfortunately we have had one illness after another in the last six weeks beginning with Garrett’s stomach bug ( You might remember the “Green” post from March). With the exception of recurring ear infections, pneumonia, the stomach bug again, and now strep throat it has been nothing but sunshine and rainbows in the Henderson household! But lets talk about something much more fun, shall we? Something so charming it is sure to melt your heart. Let’s talk about the wedding of Q and U hosted by Kindergartners. Brace yourself for cuteness!

I was an honored guest at the wedding of Q and U along with many QUeens and QUarterbacks. The wedding was hosted by Mrs. Mertins and Mrs. Amos’ Kindergarten classes. The event was put on to really solidify the QU sound into the students minds, and to remind them that the two always go hand in hand (a short list of exceptions exist but at 5 and 6 years of age they don’t need to worry with that. Heck, I don’t even worry with it. lol). A QUartet sang during the ceremony and a reception complete with wedding cake, punch, and dancing followed.  It was a fun day full of interactive learning! Oh to be in Kindergarten again…

I bet you thought I gave up on this project, didn’t you? Actually I was AWOL with good reason. Well it’s not a good reason, but it’s a reason.

In honor of St. Patty’s day we decided that this week’s photo theme was to be the color green. Little did I know when it was decided that is exactly how the Henderson household would be feeling… GREEN, and it wasn’t with envy I can assure you that.  The stomach bug decided to pay us a visit. My poor little guy was miserable for 7 days. As I type this my baby girl is now having her run with it. I pray she does not get any worse than she is now, and that it passes much more quickly than Garrett’s did. This has been a lonnnng week. A. Very. Long. Week.

Spring is here! Spring is here!!!! I am so happy that Winter is behind us. We celebrated the spring equinox with a day of fun outside.

They erupted into a fit of giggles as soon as I saw them and ran off saying “Let’s play dress up again!”

“Momma, I painted my pretty fingernails!” It’s only marker (thank goodness!), but she was extremely proud of herself. Now they match her pretty toenails that MiMi painted sparkly red a couple of weeks ago . I am pretty convinced she selected the red marker on purpose.
