{ So long, Farewell…}

31/365

Bidding adieu to January… In my red high heels.

Ok so they aren’t mine exactly nor am I wearing them per se, but the previous sentence would have lost all drama if I would have said “Bidding adieu to January… with my daughters princess shoes.” See? I was going for impact people. This weeks theme is “Red” and to me the color red always makes a statement so impact was necessary. Thank you for your understanding in the matter. ;)

Today’s Smiles From the Heart:

Dancing and jumping on my bed with the kidlets after their bath.

Listening to littleman and his buddy from class talking on the phone.(they exchanged numbers last week. So cute!) Overhearing: “Ruben? Ruben?… you are being awfully quiet!” I had to giggle when I heard my chatterbox say that. I don’t think Ruben would have been able to get a word in edgewise anyways.

A conversation with a good friend and her suggestion of indulging in a glass of wine. The wine suggestion has nothing to do with her being a good friend, but it does remind me why I love her. She has excellent advice. Seriously.

Realizing that I have blogged everyday for an entire month. My work here is done… KIDDING! I am only getting started ya’ll!

{ Pink-a-dot Jacket }

30/365

Just a little shot of my girl that I caught as she was bending down to collect candy from the pinata at a friends birthday party. It was serious business, that candy collecting. After all, he (or she) with the most lollipops wins… right? :D

Avery has a few jackets and the one in this shot is known as “my pink- a- dot jacket!” I love hearing how her little 2 year old mind works and how her thoughts develop into her speech. The insight into how she and her brother process the world around them is one of the coolest things to witness. So what others might hear as just a mistaken way of saying “Polk-a-dot”, I hear as a light bulb turning on and all I can do is marvel at the new found revelation. The revelation that as much as I will spend my life trying,  I will never be able to teach my children as much as they have taught and continue to teach me.  Oh my gosh!! It IS pink-a-dot!

P.S Life through their eyes is WAY more fun! Just sayin’. You should really take a moment each day and spend it rediscovering the world through the eyes of your children!

Today’s Smiles from the Heart:

Getting to watch not one but TWO chick flicks!

My in laws taking the kids for me so I could get some much needed cleaning accomplished. I have a house to get ready to put on the market!

Finding my desk that was lost under a mountain of paperwork. I forgot what color it was. It’s brown for the record.

My hubby.

Soup and salad for dinner. Perfect for a dreary day.

{ He Shines }

29/365

Today, we celebrated over ice cream, the achievements of our little scholar. Our master of all things Kindergarten, Garrett Bradyn, continues to excel in school. And as Mrs. Mertin’s put it “Garrett continues to shine!” He could not have brought home a more immaculate report card. I am so proud of him and all of his hard work. I hope that his enthusiasm and love for learning never ceases. I am pretty sure his enthusiasm and love for ice cream won’t be going anywhere. :D

Today’s Smiles From the Heart:

Garrett’s Report Card!

Avery telling me “You go potty like a big girl and you get a sticker, momma!” lol Nothing like a little bribery encouragement from your two year old.

Rain is a good thing ;)

Garrett picking out a recipe for our dinner. It was pretty tasty!

{ A piece of home }

28/365

I had intended on saving this shot until next month but I feel the need to share it now because it’s a happy shot and I have happy news! My momma will be here for Valentines day! She will fly in a couple of days prior. At least that is the plan. I am sooooooo excited. It’s been an entire year since we last saw her. Translation:  WAY. TOO. STINKIN’. LONG. It’s just how life has worked out lately so I do what I do best and roll with the punches… even if that means I miss her that much more every day. And my brothers and dad, I haven’t even seen them in a year and a half.  I miss them like crazy too. This is my longest stretch of being away from home so far in my entire 26 years. (ok, ok 26 +3 years. Couldn’t slide that past you, could I? Dang.). I do know that it’s all a part of the life we live as a military family stationed clear across the whole wide world country, but it doesn’t mean I have to like it. As a matter of fact, I detest it. It breaks my heart that my side of the family is missing out on watching our babies grow. That has to be the hardest part for sure. I am thankful for the bond they share through phone conversations on an almost daily basis. I am looking forward to just hanging out with my mom and super excited about her cooking for me. :D I always feel like I eat so well when she’s around. I am filled with healthy, fresh, Californian food. Having her here will be having a piece of home. Something I am longing for. So with this happy news I feel like celebrating and sharing this shot early. WOOHOO! My momma is coming to town!

Today’s Smiles From the Heart:

My dad and Avery talking on the phone and how happy hearing the word “Grampa” makes him.

Avery saying “Gawet Bwayden, I have something for you!” Both Garrett and I got a big giggle out of that.

Garrett Bradyn saying “She’s like so cute.” in response.

Knowing that my mommy will be here in just a couple of weeks.

Knowing that I will be in bed by 11 tonight.

{ I big puffy heart these faces }

27/365

How lucky am I to be their momma? Everyday I wake up knowing that endless kisses and hugs and giggles and snuggles are in my immediate future. And probably a few tantrums and meltdowns (Just keepin’ it real folks). But hey, it’s all part of the cute little package! I can confidently say that I have had the socks blessed right off of me. Yep… Life is Sweet!

Today’s Smiles From the {Big Puffy} Heart:

These two faces.

Both of my kidlets trying new foods.

Avery mimicking EVERYTHING Garrett does.

Listening to the kids on the phone with their daddy.

Watching Buoy sleep upside down. I will never tire of this, it’s hilarious. The only pets we ever see sleeping like this usually are in our fish tank. ;)
