{ “Amen!” }

I was blessed to be raised by parents who at any given time could be caught with a book in their hands. They are both avid readers who passed their love of reading on to me when I was very young. My momma, believe it or not, can finish an entire novel in just a matter of hours. It’s just one of her many superpowers!:)I always knew I would do my darndest¬† to instill this love of reading in my children. I began reading to our son while he was in utero and haven’t stopped since. I am happy to say that today both of my kidlets love books, and love to be read to. Garrett is now reading on his own very well and he is making amazing strides. He told us just yesterday that he read a level five book in class. I am not sure how accurate that statement is, but I do know that the level two reader that came home with him yesterday as homework posed no challenge to his vocabulary or comprehension and he giggled at the funny parts he was reading. Our baby girl Avery (who I am willing to bet will be a very early reader because of all she is absorbing as we work with Garrett) ends each book a little different than most. She ends it much sweeter as far as this slightly biased momma is concerned. Instead of saying “The End”, she slaps the book closed and exclaims “AMEN!”

Jeannine - First of all, love the picture. Great colors.
The picture I took of Olivia was her reading a book too. LOL. She was reading to mommy, thus the open mouth.
Oh yes, please start telling us what you are so happy about. It is a great way to keep that smiley face on when your “Big Coastie” has to go. :(
