{ Hopscotch }

It’s been far too long since we have played hopscotch. Our paved driveway is nice and long and perfect for said purposes. So yesterday we ventured outside and declared it Henderson Hopscotch Day! (Ok, we didn’t really call it that, but we should have.) I decided we would put a spin on traditional hopscotch. Since this weeks 365 project theme is shapes, I had Garrett and Avery draw different shapes in each box. We then filled old socks with dry beans and made homemade beanbags. (It was such a simple little activity that brought so much joy to them. Finding a way to share something that we did as children with my own children who are growing up in a very face paced gadget era is such a great way for me to make sure that they will know the slower and simpler joys in life. And it’s comforting to know that they enjoy these things.) Garrett was a hopscotch pro! So cute to watch him on one leg trying to keep his balance. This was the first time that Avery really wanted to partake in hopping. She was hilarious. Imagine a two year old, in squeaky shoes, bouncing with both feet down the pavement, hair flying in the wind. It was pure childhood bliss. She was in heaven. Apparently I must have been just as hilarious to watch because both of my babies were giggling as loudly as humanly possible. It was pure momma bliss. I was in heaven.

Today’s Smiles from the Heart

The warmer weather

Playing at the park and having dinner with friends. Nothing but good times and lots of laughs!

Figuring out how to lower the mattress frame in Avery’s convertible crib all by myself!

Two brief phone conversations with my hubby, and several text messages.

Stopping by sonic on our way to the park for “Slushie drinks” per my kidlets request.

The ice in my drink from Sonic. They have the BEST ice. For real.

I was just visiting Leias page, and forgot to ask where you got those cute overlays from. You two should submit your pictures. Maybe you would get a free set.
In case I sound like your mother…..ice is bad for your teeth. LOL. Love ya.
