Today was “Wacky Tacky Day” at Garrett’s school. He reminded me several times over the course of the week that they were to dress up on Friday. He excitedly picked out his outfit last night before bed right down to the green soccer socks and sideways superman hat. However, when he went to put his shoes on today he surprised me with wanting to wear two different shoes “Because that will be REALLY wacky!” And he was right. Avery and I joined him for lunch with his class in the cafeteria and he was definitely one of the most wacky in his class. Garrett is such an outgoing little guy and we are quite blessed by that. He is always willing to participate and have a good time! Looking at him this afternoon in his colorful ensemble made remember a t-shirt he used to wear when he was two that said “I get my good looks from my dad.” After looking at this picture, I’d have to say I agree. Surely he didn’t get this face from me.
Today’s Smiles From the Heart:
Surprising littleman at school and joining him for lunch. He thrilled and before leaving he gave me a big kiss on the lips in front of all of his class (I hope he never outgrows that) and said “I love you momma!” I made his day. He made mine.
Dinner and playtime with great friends at Chick Fil A.
Briefly getting to talk with my Auntie Becca this afternoon. Made me miss her and reminisce how Garrett used to called her “Auntie Kisses”. (Now she is known to him as “Cooper’s Gramma.” Cooper is his California best buddy. Even though the last two times we were there Garrett got him sick. oops. Sorry Coop. Just bringing you a little something from FL is all.)
Watching Avery cover Garrett with a blanket when he fell asleep on the couch this evening. She is such a little momma right now. Simply precious.
