Today marked the 100th day of the school year and all of the kindergarten students were to bring a collection of 100 things, wear 100 things (lets not even discuss how Garrett was going to wear something that had 100 on it but his momma had an epic fail with the iron on transfers at midnight last night. Sore subject.), or bring in a picture of someone that is 100 days, months, or years old. Our little comedian decided that he would like to bring in 100 jokes in a bag. That specifically became 100 knock knock jokes because I was able to find a website with hundreds of them. We spent the evening printing them, cutting them out, and placing them into his bag for all of his classmates to see. He was so eager to tell the jokes, and so excited about this 100th day celebration that he woke up extra early and climbed into bed with me. “Momma, can we get up now?” I heard a little voice in striped footie jammies ask. I somehow convinced him to snuggle with me until the alarm went off. (Love those moments.) This morning, he hit the ground running. He was ready to go and looking forward to his friends laughing at all of his funny jokes. Judging from the note his teacher sent home, and all that Garrett had to tell me about, I think he succeeded. I am willing to bet that he was the very first child in the history of Pea Ridge Elementary’s 100th day celebration to ever bring 100 jokes in a bag! And that’s no joke.![]()
Today’s Smiles From the Heart:
Getting the kitchen floor mopped. The only chore I fully accomplished during this very unproductive day. And now it’s raining… Two Dogs + Rain + Clean floor = Mop again, sister.
My hubby’s lengthy conversation about why we were destined to be stationed in Arkansas and how it was all in the hands of fate. It was extremely cute to listen to. But please don’t tell him that I told you he’s cute. He has an image to maintain, and if the guys at work caught wind of this he’d never hear the end of it![]()
Two shirtless babies coming to me and telling me to look at their belly buttons. They had hearts stuck to them. My little love bugs. STINKIN’ ADORABLE I TELL YA! (Nope, no bias here. Why ever would you ask?
)
The smell of fresh rain.
