WHO DAT?!? Way to go New Orleans on a well deserved win! Congratulations on your first Super Bowl trophy in franchise history!! I know tonight the Crescent City is going wild over the victory! A Super Bowl win tonight, and Mardi Gras next week… I believe the trash collectors in the French Quarter have their work cut out for them!
I couldn’t help but cheer for the Saints as we did live in Louisiana and were stationed in New Orleans for 3 years. However I never intended on getting that sucked into the game. I was glued to the tv. Let’s face it, I mostly only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. The commercials, as a whole were a big let down this year. There were a few that were humorous, but for the most part I was disappointed. I spent most of the game texting back and forth with my friend Kim comparing commercial notes. It reminded me of years ago when we were stationed in my hometown of Fort Bragg, CA and Kim and her hubby Chris invited us over for their annual “Anti Super Bowl Party”. The point was to only watch the commercials. That also happened to be the year of the infamous “Wardrobe Malfunction” and they just so happened to have Tivo. They were the first people I knew personally with Tivo, and they also had a huge 60+ inch big screen tv. I can’t tell you how many times we rewound that halftime show and watched Janet Jackson, life size, in all her glory. Such memories. Well tonight I texted Kim a confession that I was actually watching the game. I was going to ask her to please not tattle on me to Chris. As it turns out, he was just as into the game as I was. I guess if the commercials are not up to par, you might as well watch the game! Geaux Saints!!

My two little buckaroo’s riding their pretend horsies around the living room all evening. I was exhausted just watching them.
Yummy enchiladas and homemade guacamole. And then cake. P.S cake chased by guacamole, not so tasty. It seemed like a good idea at the time…
